Little Miss
For this project, my professor gave out the name of a company, and each student had to build a package for their brand. I was given Little Miss, which I decided was a small local boutique that sold affordable feminine clothing for newborns to preteens. The company would be a family business ran by a group of sisters.
When I first envisioned this logo, I knew that I wanted to have a hanger somehow hanging off of the text. I also wanted to make the logo fun and 'girly.' I had to create it in grayscale originally, but as I moved through the project, I was able to add color. I ended up choosing to use a couple of variations of pinks along with a soft gray.
After I had solidified my logo and added color, I was tasked with creating a business card, a piece of stationary, an envelope, and a branded piece to compliment the company.
For my business card, I chose to go very minimalistic and clean. The back of the card, shows off the hanger in a repetitive pattern.
The branded piece I chose was a simple shopping bag with the logo on the side and pink straps.
When creating the stationary, I chose to break the logo. I kept the textual logo, but because of how low the hanger hung, I chose to keep that off of this one. Instead, I opted to enlarge it and use it as a watermark. I also wanted to draw from other aspects of the branding materials such as the hanger pattern from the business card.
For the envelope, I also opted to drop the hanger from the logo. I created a very minimalistic design on this envelope because of the restrictions the postal service sets.
