In addition to designing, I also sell Color Street nail strips. My background in design has been incredibly helpful as I can create my own logo, business cards, and graphics for my business.

For my logo, I wanted to use watercolor splashes to tie in with the theme of nail polish. It is slightly ironic knowing that the color strips are not wet paint, but I really liked the look and the flowy feel. The font also was meant to be curvy and flowy without being over powering. I originally wanted to use the colors gold and royal blue, but in creating this deign, the opacity on the colors turned down significantly, creating the lovely lavender and yellow it is now. My business card follows the branded themes that I set up in my logo. I created color bars from the lavender and yellow, and borrowed the watercolor background to put in the corners of the card. These corner marks are something that I use quite a bit in other graphics that I use.

My apple picking graphic that I made for a promotion I did in September, doesn't mimic my branding as much as my business card does. This was intentional as I wanted to give myself more creative freedom than I had previously with graphics for my business.

When trying to come up with a design for this graphic, I chose to create something more semi-realistic than I had ever done at that point because I wanted to create something that would stand out against all of my other graphics. I also wanted it to look fun and eye catching. I thought that creating something that was recognizable would draw in more views and interaction. I did use the same font for the title as I did with my logo and business card to create unity even if it was just the slightest piece of it.
