Vector Portraits

During the summer when I had down time between classes, I decided that I needed another hobby. After having taken a class on vector art and seeing images of vector portraits online, I thought it would be fun to recreate some of my favorite photographs in this style.

I am frequently asked why my portraits never have facial features. My answer to that is that faces require a lot more detail and attention, which I would be willing to once in a while. Creating facial features in vector is an incredibly tedious process that I do not enjoy as much. Also if I were to give the faces that much detail, I would be required to give everything else in the image more detail. By the time I finished, I would have a completely different style. This style is enjoyable for me to do, so I have since recreated quite a few different photographs. My favorite one is also the one that took me the longest amount of time. The image of myself and my fellow bridesmaids reacting to seeing our beautiful bride for the first time was a moment that I will never forget.
